The “Show-Type Pitbulls”

In late-90’s, pitbulls in the country by the time were classified between “Fighting Pitbulls” which are very lean and “Show-Type Pitbulls” which are bulkier in size. The term Bully was later adapted placing American to depict where supposedly the new breed was created calling it “American Bully” prior to inception of American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) in year 2004.

Recalling the early and famous “Show-Type Pitbulls” of that time are:

As time goes the “Show-Type Pitbulls” were officially called the American Bully breed separating from the APBT breed; Filipino APBT enthusiasts are well-aware of the bloodlines what they have on hand and how they developed the breed on their breeding program. Transforming the APBT breed to American Bully breed is controversial and confusing nonetheless; this document may somehow guide you regarding the progression of the breed in the Philippines.

The First Official American Bully Conformation Show in Philippines

In 19th January 2014, the American Bully Kennel Club (ABKC) in collaboration with NPTC-PBL has conducted the first ABKC Conformation Show in the country. ABKC is the official registry of the American Bully breed founded by Dave Wilson in 2004. The show has come into reality with the efforts of the current president of NPTC-PBL Mr. John Enerva and Filipino supporters of American Bully breed.

The overwhelming popularity of American Bully in Philippines is unstoppable, in June 25, 2013 a separate registry and club for APBT and American Bully breed called the Remy Kennel Club Philippines (RKCP) was established in the country.

RKCP is an official affiliate of Remy Kennel Club (RKC) founded by Fabian Chichester who owned Lowjack Remy-Martin DNA-VIP.

The first Dog Show and Event conducted by RKCP in the country was on June 29 & 30, 2013 at Riverbanks Center, Marikina City, Philippines judged by RKC founder himself Mr. Fabian Chichester.
